Mr. Benco

 

Hello! My name is Tom Benco and I am extremely proud to be the full-time physical education teacher at Wilson Wims Elementary School in Clarksburg, Maryland.

 

Professionally I have been teaching elementary physical education for 18 years and I enjoy sharing my passion for movement with our students.  Three years ago I was fortunate enough to win the 2015-2016 Maryland Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award. I am excited to use this opportunity to reach more people and extend myself professionally at the national and international levels.

 

Personally, I am married to my wife Natalie, who is also a teacher at Wims Elementary (grade 2) and have two daughters.  In my spare time I enjoy golfing, watching the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Steelers, playing a newly invented game called MoonBall, and exercising with my family.  I grew up in Western Pennsylvania near Uniontown, PA.  I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania for my Bachelors Degree and the University of Maryland for my Masters Degree.

Hi!  My name is Brad Smith.  I am the part time PE teacher here at Wilson Wims Elementary.

 

I just finished up my fourth year of teaching PE and loved it!  Before teaching PE, I taught 5th grade for six years and 3rd grade for three years.

 

I am married and have three sons.  I love spending time with my family and love going to the beach.  I enjoy many sports but golf and basketball are my favorites to play.  I went to the University of Maryland and am a HUGE Terps fan!  I also like the Redskins, Caps, and Nats.  I also love to go fishing

whenever I get the chance.
